Now in its fourth year, Franklin County Fiber Twist will be held on Saturday, October 25, and will celebrate the world of fiber in its many forms. Sponsored by Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Fiber Twist showcases the many sheep and fiber farmers, spinners, knitters, dyers, felters, weavers, traditional rug hookers and other fiber artisans found throughout Franklin County. This event is designed to acknowledge the importance and vitality of the agricultural sector and well as people involved in the Creative Economy. There will be a centrally-located, indoor Vendors’ Marketplace of fiber arts products and demonstrations open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Greenfield High School, 1 Lenox Avenue in Greenfield. Specialty yarns, spindles, hand-hooked rugs and many other items of interest to knitters, spinners and weavers will be for sale. Other related local fiber arts locations will be open throughout the region for visiting on the weekend. More information and a schedule of demonstrations is available at the Visitors’ Center in Greenfield near the I-91/Route 2 rotary or online at www.fibertwist.com. There is plenty of free parking and no admission fee to the Marketplace.
