Heat is more valuable than electricity! There are two biomass plants being proposed in Greenfield, and they are radically different projects. The Greenfield District Heating project wants to do biomass right, and believes it CAN be done right.

Let me tell you what a GOOD biomass plant would look like.

GREENFIELD, MA - At Hope & Olive’s May Soup and Game night fundraiser, Greening Greenfield Energy Committee raised $660 for Franklin County Home Care’s Elder Energy Saving Program, and signed up almost forty people who took home lawn signs for its recently launched Greenfield 10% Challenge.

Pioneer Renewable Energy Passes First Environmental Hurdle PDF Print E-mail

(Cambridge, MA) Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs Ian Bowles ruled that Pioneer Renewable Energy has completed its Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) review and can proceed to seek the additional permits necessary to develop the proposed combined heat and power biomass facility in Greenfield after clearing its initial environmental review.
